Its pan-shaped head sits above the component surface and provides a stable bearing area, while the single slot can be engaged with a standard flat-blade screwdriver. A slotted drive is not intended to compete with high-torque drives such as hexagon socket or Torx. Drive & Installation
The straight slot is designed for installation with a conventional flat-blade screwdriver. Because the drive has limited resistance to cam-out compared with modern recessed drives, the correct screwdriver width and proper alignment are important during installation.
Selection Note: DIN 84 is a good option where simple hand-tool access is required. For applications involving higher tightening torque or frequent power-tool installation, a screw with a more torque-resistant drive may be preferable.
